We had a very successful Food Drive on Saturday. We want to thank all the players and parent drivers for a job well done. And a special thanks to Anis Kader and Jane Meussner for organizing the event. ANHS Boys Basketball has donated 2884 lbs of food to the Orange County Rescue Mission. They were overflowing with gratitude and told us once again that we set the bar for all other community programs running food drives. And, by the way, no one has been able to surpass us yet! The OCRM representative told us that 2884 lbs of food equates to 5,768 meals. That feeds a lot of families. This is a favorite event of the year. It gives us great pride to watch our boys meet the challenges head on and do it with great enthusiasm. They are a source of pride for our program, the school, and our community. Since Socks from Jocks started this food drive seven years ago, boys basketball has collected and donated 17,933 lbs of food! That's 35,866 meals. Their selflessness will make a difference in the lives of many families. |
