We had a very successful food drive last Saturday. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the players and parent drivers for a job well done. ANHS Boys Basketball donated nearly 3,000 lbs. of food to the Orange County Rescue Mission. They were overflowing with gratitude and told us once again that we set the bar for all other community programs running food drives. And by the way, no one has been able to surpass us yet. The OCRM representative told us that 3,000 lbs. of food equates to 6,000 meals. That feeds a lot of families. This is by far my favorite event of the year. It gives me great pride to watch our boys meet the challenge head on and do it with great enthusiasm. They are a source of pride for the program, the school, and their community. Since Socks from Jocks started this food drive six years ago, boys basketball has collected and donated nearly 15,000 lbs of food. That is 30,000 meals. Their selflessness will make a difference in many families lives. Awesome Job!! Go Wolverines!! Jane Meussner |
