After waiting for over a week through a first-round bye, the ANHS boys varsity team opened the CIF playoffs with a hard-fought 63-53 second-round victory over Arroyo Valley at home.  After getting behind early, the Wolverines came back with a very good 2nd quarter effort to lead by eight points at halftime.  With the lead staying between six and ten points throughout the 3rd and 4th quarters, Arroyo Valley made one final charge to cut the lead to two points with a couple of minutes remaining.  The Wolverines then responded with two 3-point shots by Bryan Fisher, along with free throws from Steven Vizcaino and Scott Lynds to close out the game.  ANHS will have a few days to rest, and then play a CIF quarterfinal game vs. Walnut High School on Tuesday, 2/22.  The game will be played at ANHS and is scheduled to start at 7 pm.  Come out to help support the Wolverines as they will try to reach the CIF semifinals!!
