The Boys Varsity Basketball squad opened its 2011-2012 season with a 57-42 victory at Marina High School on Friday, 12/2.  The Wolverines overcame some first half nerves to outscore Marina, 25 to 4 in the 4th quarter.  Co-Captain Bryan Fisher led the way with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals.  Junior guard Scott Lynds had a big 4th quarter and added 15 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Senior Luke Chaply had an impressive and consistent opening game by scoring 13 points,  grabbing 4 rebounds, and blocking 3 shots.  The Wolverines will continue their season at the La Quinta Tournament this coming week.  The opening game is against Corona Del Mar High School and will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, 12/5 at La Quinta High School.  Check the basketball calendar for the rest of the tournament schedule.  The team will also be walking in the Laguna Niguel Christmas Parade on Saturday, 12/10 from 10:30 to 11:00 am.  Please come out and support your Boys Varsity team this week!
